Scanner

TimeScan will generate a set of barcodes representing
the workers, equipment, material, sub-contracts and the cost codes.
These barcodes may be printed on sheets of paper, labels and badges
or painted on the equipment body.

Each foreman or superintendent will carry a handheld barcode reader to scan
information from the generated barcodes. He or she will record each task as
it happens, by scanning the code of the worker performing the service, the
equipment used, if any, the cost code under which the work is to be recorded,
and the duration of the task. This whole process typically takes from 2 to
5 seconds. If you prefer, you can record start and end time for each task instead
of duration.

Optionally as quantities of material are placed or installed the Foreman will
scan the material, the cost code in wich it was used and the corresponding
quantity. As the work progresses the Foreman can also inform quantities produced
by scanning the cost code and typing the corresponding quantity.

At the end of the shift, the data stored in the handheld devices will be transfered
into a PC based application, allowing you to immediately analyze the information.
All the data is now ready to be transferred directly into your payroll or cost
system TimeScan

PDA

Each foreman or superintendent will carry a PDA. TimeScan will download into
each PDA only the information that is relevant to the user of that device.
As the tasks occur the foreman will select from drop down menus the job, equipment
if any, the cost code, the employee who performed the task and enter the duration
of each task. This whole process takes a few seconds.

At any time, the foreman can synchronize the information contained
on the PDA with that in the Desktop, thus updating both. At any
time the foreman or the TimeScan operator can verify or, change
information. The data will be ready to be analyzed and exported
to your payroll system as soon as the last foreman synchronizes
his or her PDA.
